Tailcone Skins Primed

I washed, etched, rinsed, and primed the tailcone side skins and bottom skin today.

The right skin came out perfectly. The left skin ended up with some roughness on the second pass (dry overspray from too much air vs. paint in the gun?). I’m not entirely sure what caused the difference but both have good coverage and don’t look too thin or thick. I used a light scotchbrite pad after it dried and the roughness smoothed off.

I have been trying to cover the parts well but keep the primer light. For reference, I have used less than two quarts for the empennage so far.

I’m going to let yesterday’s primer harden up a bit more and then get started on riveting!
