I broke my 3/32″ dimple die and I am still waiting for a replacement so I decided to get started on the upper forward fuselage section of the plans.
I fabricated the forward angle and separated the instrument panel attach parts.
Dad is visiting from Canada (the border is finally open!) and we completed our first work together on the plane. We drilled the hole into the firewall recess for match drilling the forward angle. We drilled the #30 hole into the recess through a thick piece of aluminum and clamped it to the upper firewall angle to keep the existing hole straight.
We then clecoed the assembly together and clecoed it to the forward fuselage.
The forward angle hole was then match drilled to the rib and match drilled to the firewall upper angle via the firewall recess.
