I started by installing accessory case items, as this area is less accessible when the engine is mounted. This included a Monkworkz MZ-30 generator (a backup to my main alternator) and the coil packs for the SDS EFI.

The oil filter had been installed during the engine build.

The generator mounts to the vacuum pad. It supplies 30 Amps, weighs less than 3 lbs., does not need a field current, and is more compact than a backup alternator.

I chose the magneto mounting option for the SDE EFI coil packs and had the mounting plates installed during the engine build. I mounted the coil packs and safety wired the bolts.

Mounting the engine went smoothly and was easier than I anticipated. I borrowed an engine hoist from another builder (thanks, Cal!). Amber and I were able to install it by ourselves. We started with the top bolts, then lowered the engine to compress the lower mounts. I purchased a load leveler, and this ended up being indispensable for mounting the engine.
